Dr. Lucas was born in the Seattle area and was raised in Kent. She graduated with a degree in biology from Western Washington University in 1979 and obtained her veterinary degree from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University in 1982. Dr. Lucas, along with her partners, founded Village Vet in 1999. She is a longtime member of the AVMA, WSVMA and the Tri County VMA. Her special interests are internal medicine, endocrinology, dentistry and geriatric medicine. She loves helping people make great choices to maximize the quality of their pet’s life, at every age!
She shares her home with Stella, a 12-year-old Brittany/yellow Lab mix; Squeaks, a grey tabby, and Cash, a 13-year-old quarter horse. Her husband Bruce died of Advanced Parkinson’s in July of 2021. She has one daughter who currently resides in Malaga, Spain, with her two dogs, Laila and Lola. In her free time, Dr. Lucas enjoys reading, gardening, hiking with Stella, and riding and doing liberty training with Cash.
